Our Mission

Our mission is to educate and empower our clients to improve health and thrive. We aim to prevent the onset of diabetes complications and associated health concerns.

Not only do we specialize in weight loss and blood sugar control, we help you improve all aspects of health, including emotional well-being. We focus on the whole person and of ten see clients reduce the need for many medications by learning to use food and exercise as medicine.

What to Expect

Diabetes Solutions provides exceptional individual patient care in a one-on-one format via telehealth. Upon enrollment, we will mail you our comprehensive resource guide, recipe book, and the seven self-care behaviors packet. These resources provide valuable information and will be referenced during coaching sessions.

Appointments can be made as frequently as weekly or as seldom as quarterly. The service plan is tailored to meet your needs and desires. The first coaching session lasts closer to an hour and follow-up sessions are about 30 minutes and depend on the goals for the session and information covered.

Cost

There is usually very little to no out of pocket cost for Diabetes Solutions services. We don’t want financial constraints to inhibit your participation. If finances are a concern, please talk to us and we can most likely ensure there is no out of pocket cost.

Lower Your A1C with a CGM

Diabetes Solutions provides Continuous Glucose Monitors (CGMs) for qualifying diabetes patients with an A1C of 7.0 or above to help transform your diabetes management and improve your health.

How to Enroll

Request Referral

Speak with your healthcare provider and request a referral.

Please see our current list of referring clinics. If you see your clinic listed, reach out to them and request a referral to Diabetes Solutions.

If you do not see your clinic listed, please reach out to us at 662-625-7214 and give us your name, date of birth, and provider name and we can reach out to them to request a referral on your behalf.

Return Referral

Your healthcare provider will then complete a referral form and fax it to us.

We'll Call You

We will then call you regarding enrollment and schedule your first appointment.

Catherine Moring

Catherine Moring, PhD, RD, BC-ADM, CDCES

Program Director

Dr. Moring is the co-founder of Diabetes Solutions and one of our diabetes coaches. She is board certified in advanced diabetes management, a certified diabetes care and education specialist, and a registered dietition. She is passionate about diabetes care and helping you meet your health goals.

Jennifer Taylor

Jennifer Taylor, RN,
CDCES, CPT

Program Instructor

Jennifer is the co-founder of Diabetes Solutions and one of our diabetes coaches. She is a registered nurse, certified diabetes care and education specialist, certified personal trainer, specialist in fitness nutrition, and a certified health coach. She is friendly, compassionate, committed to learning and will be your biggest cheerleader.

Allison Tharp

Allison Tharp, MS

Program Instructor

Allison is one of our diabetes coaches and the director of the Mississippi Diabetes Network. She is a transformational nutrition coach, health coach, and certified personal trainer. She has a bachelor’s degree in sports medicine and exercise science and a master’s degree in health promotion. She is eager to help you heal and thrive.

Barbara Green

Barbara Green, CPT

Enrollment Staff

Barbara assists with program enrollment and billing and is the program registration coordinator. She can answer any questions related to enrollment and will always be helpful. She is also a certified personal trainer.

Corbett Weathersby

Corbett Weathersby, CPT

Enrollment Staff

Corbett is the Diabetes Solutions adminstrative assistant and helps with program enrollment and billing. He has a degree in health, excercise science, and recreation management and is a certified personal trainer. He is passionate about helping others improve their health.

There is minimal to no out-of-pocket cost to participate as our services are covered by some insurances and/or grant funding.

We require:

  • A diagnosis of diabetes or pre-diabetes
  • A positive attitude ready and willing to learn
  • Access to a telephone, FaceTime or Zoom

Individuals diagnosed with diabetes or pre-diabetes are elible.

Our services are offered over phone, FaceTime, or Zoom. 

Diabetes Solutions coaching services are available to people with any form of diabetes including prediabetes for very little to no, out of pocket costs. Sometimes participants may have a small out of pocket co-pay but if they are unable to afford the copay, we have grant funds available to cover their portion of the copay. We don’t want financial barriers to prevent anyone from getting the coaching or help they need to better manage diabetes. Please reach out to us if you have questions about whether Diabetes Solutions will cost you anything.

If you or (a loved one) have been told by a medical professional that you are a person living with prediabetes or diabetes, reach out to the Diabetes Network Director Allison Tharp at [email protected] or (601) 540-2476 to start the process for enrollment.

No. All sessions are done via video-conferencing and/or phone calls. This allows us to serve people in need from all over the state.

No. A packet will be mailed to your mailing address with the resource guides, educational booklets and recipe guidebook.

Diabetes Solutions coaches use either telephone, Zoom or Facetime for the coaching sessions, and the participant has the option to choose which is most comfortable for their sessions. The initial coaching session is generally 45 minutes to 1 hour and the following sessions are 30 mins.

Yes, a designated family member or significant other may participate in coaching sessions. Involving loved ones can provide incredible support and help them understand how they can assist in managing diabetes effectively.

If you must miss a scheduled diabetes coaching session, it is important to communicate with your coach or coordinator as soon as possible. We ask that each participant make the sessions a priority and give 24 hours notice before the session to reschedule. Diabetes Solutions only allows 2 unexcused missed sessions for rescheduling.
